Heat oven to 350 degrees. Coat 8″ x 8″ or 9″ x 9″ baking pan with cooking spray.

Combine 1/2 cup flour, 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted if lumpy), 1/4 tsp baking powder and 1/8 tsp. salt in a large bowl.

In a small bowl whisk together 2/3 cup dark brown sugar, 1/4 cup canola oil, 1 large egg, 1 large egg white and 1 tsp. vanilla until smooth. Pour mixture into flour mixture and stir until blended. Stir in 1/4 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips and 1 cup walnuts. (Batter will be stiff).

Spread batter in prepared pan and bake 20 minutes or until center is cooked. Inserted wooden pick will come out with just a few moist crumbs. Remember if using a glass pan to reduce heat by 25 degrees. Cool completely and cut into 8 bars.

Each bar has 305 calories, 5 grams protein, 2 grams fiber, 22 grams fat and 73 mg sodium.

For a special treat, top with 1/2 cup reduced fat ice cream or frozen treat and have a wonderful dessert for less than 500 calories.
