With the end of basketball season here and summer vacation coming in a few weeks, many athletes are wondering, “What do I do to get ready for next season?” The simple answer is first sit down with your coach and decide what you need to improve on, i.e. ballhandling, shooting off the dribble, moving without the ball, getting stronger, or lateral speed. These are some of the areas that most basketball players are asked to improve on.

Now once you decide, what you need to improve, the next question is how to get better. You need to set up a 12-16 week program that will focus on making your weaknesses your strenghts. Don’t try to completely overhaul your game, but pick one area and give it complete focus.

There is no offseason, just time to get better. If you truly want to be great, then make a serious effort to improve. We here at Xcelerated Performance are geared to help you achieve your goals. Train smart.
